04A bit of history

Haishan Shrine was completed in 1938 within Yuanshan Park. It was abandoned after the war, and today only the steps and the stone bases of the torii gate remain. It was originally meant to be built in Banqiao, but since no suitable site could be found there, it was relocated to Wai Yuanshan in Zhonghe instead. The shrine was deliberately oriented facing north, symbolising its role in watching over Zhonghe and Banqiao to the north. In 2005, it was designated a New Taipei City historic site together with a nearby air-raid shelter and the Jisui Water Reservoir. Jisui Elementary School began as a branch campus of Zhonghe Elementary School established in 1954, becoming independent the following year.

05What's coming

The first phase of the Wanda Line is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, according to the schedule announced by New Taipei City Government's Department of Rapid Transit Systems. Along this line, Zhonghe Senior High School Station will be built underground on Liancheng Road, west of Yuanshan Road, right within this neighbourhood in Jiaqing Li.

How are these measured?

Compared against the New Taipei neighbourhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
