Downstairs and into Jinhe Sports Park, then after a run, up the trail on Zhongkeng Hill
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Jinhe Sports Park covers about 8.7 hectares: the eastern part has softball and tennis courts and a children's play area, and the western part a 400-metre running track. The New Taipei City Zhonghe Civil Sports Center is inside the park too. Behind the park, the north-east flank of Zhongkeng Hill has been made into a hiking trail, so after a run you can head straight up the hill.
Beside the park are Jinhe Elementary School and Jinhe High School, and about 520 metres east is Shuang Ho Hospital.
Further east, around Fuxing Road and Zhongxing Street, it is far more densely lived in: Dexing Village has about 548 people per hectare and Fuxing Village about 437, while Jinchang Village, up against the hills, has only about 63. Fuxing Elementary School, Fuxing Park and Zhongxing Park are all on this side.
School catchments split in two: in the west, Jinhe Elementary School's catchment covers Jinhe, Jinzhong, Jinchang and Jinsheng villages; in the east, Fuxing Elementary School's covers Fuxing and Zhongxing villages, along with some lin (neighborhood units) of Dexing Village.
Healthcare ranks 39th among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods, in the middle tier. Even so, Shuang Ho Hospital in this neighborhood is a medical centre.
In our street photos, pavements rank 29th, in the upper tier.
There is no MRT station in this neighborhood, and real-estate listings say you take a bus or ride to Jingan Station. Public transport ranks 67th among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods, in the lower tier.
Real-estate listings also name heavy rush-hour traffic on Zhongzheng Road and Yuantong Road as drawbacks, along with the southern side backing onto the hills and being a little less convenient than the town centre. Big as the park is, greenery in our street photos ranks only 74th, in the lower tier.
The district name Zhonghe dates from 1920, when Zhonghe Zhuang was created, taking "Zhong" from Zhongkeng Zhuang and "He" from Zhanghe Zhuang. Both old names can still be found today: the small hill behind the park is Zhongkeng Hill, and west of the park there is still a Zhanghe Wetland.
Shuang Ho Hospital began in 1988, when the provincial government decided to reorganise the city branch of Taiwan Provincial Taipei Hospital and move it to Taipei County; in 2004 a 50-year build-and-operate contract was signed with Taipei Medical University. The hospital opened in 2008 and became a medical centre in 2024.
Liancheng Jinhe Station, on the first phase of the Wanda Line, is near the junction of Liancheng Road and Jinhe Road, outside this neighborhood, about 450 metres in a straight line from Jinhe Sports Park.
A United Daily News report in August 2026 said the first phase is expected to be substantially complete by the end of 2027, and work on Liancheng Jinhe Station is more than 93% done. About 200 scooter spaces and 400 bicycle spaces are planned beside the station for people changing to the MRT.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
