Home to Nerima Art Museum, and to a station-front shopping street that holds an Awa Odori dance every September
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Step out of Nakamurabashi Station and you're right at the Sanz Nakamurabashi shopping street, which holds an Awa Odori dance on the first weekend of September every year. It's a 3-minute walk from the station to the Nerima Art Museum, set in the Bijutsu no Mori green space.
The ground floor of this building houses the Nukui Library, with the museum on the 2F and 3F, so you can borrow books and see an exhibition in the same building. For everyday shopping, there's the area under the station's elevated tracks, with the Seiyu Nakamurabashi store and Emio Nakamurabashi.
In 2020, this neighborhood had about 220 residents per hectare. The 7 chome blocks that the Nerima City Office maps as "around Nakamurabashi Station" are all included in the neighborhood.
On real estate listing pages, 13 listings in Nakamura 3-chome and 7 listings in Nakamura-kita 2-chome all give their nearest station as Nakamurabashi. Some listings in Nakamura-kita 2-chome and 3-chome even say it's a 4-minute walk.
The neighboring stations are close too: it's about 1.5 kilometers to Nerima Station in the direction of Ikebukuro, and just 0.8 kilometers to Fujimidai in the other direction.

The name Nakamurabashi comes from a bridge that once crossed the Senkawa Josui waterway; the waterway was later covered over, becoming the road surface of today's Senkawa-dori. The station opened in June 1924.
Starting in 1997, the tracks between Nakamurabashi and Fujimidai were elevated, and this four-track elevated section was completed in 2001. The Seiyu Nakamurabashi store opened under these elevated tracks in 2004, followed by Emio Nakamurabashi in 2007.
The museum and the Nukui Library were originally slated for rebuilding, but a City Office page updated in June 2026 says that because the cost was too high, the plan is being reconsidered, with making use of the existing buildings now the basic approach.
The demolition work that had been planned was put on hold as of September 2025. The City Office says that this fiscal year it will first carry out a survey of the building's current condition, then consider how to deal with issues like aging.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
