A new 400-hectare redevelopment zone with the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, Hanshin Intercontinental and the Taichung Dome construction site

The 14th Redevelopment Zone is a new district that is still filling in; before redevelopment it was farmland on the edge of the settlements around Sizhangli, Houzhuang and Chenping. Morrison Academy is inside the neighborhood and Weidao High School is just past its western edge, so property listings often call the area a private-school cluster, and developers are still launching new projects. Two big landmarks stand to the north, at the corner of Chongde Road and Huanzhong Road. Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium is the home ground of the CTBC Brothers, and in 2025 it became the first outdoor ballpark in the CPBL to average more than 10,000 fans a game. Next to the stadium, Hanshin Intercontinental Shopping Plaza opened on April 10, 2026.
In street photos, cleanliness here ranks 2nd of Taichung's 47 neighborhoods and buildings 8th. Because the district is new, public facilities take up 46.2% of the planned land and residential zoning 49%. The neighborhood's axis is Rongde Road, a 40-meter-wide parkway, about 5.0 km of which lies inside the neighborhood.
Everyday shopping ranks 46th of Taichung's 47 neighborhoods; amenities have not caught up yet. There is no MRT station inside the neighborhood. The nearest stations, Songzhu and Toujiacuo, are both a little over 800 meters from its edge, and public transport ranks 37th. The Taichung Dome is still under construction and is not expected to be finished until the end of 2030.
In the 1986 comprehensive review of the city plan, this land was designated a "later development area" to be rezoned from farmland to residential use. In 2004 the city redesignated it a "comprehensive development area" and made three of its units the 14th Redevelopment Zone, about 404.39 hectares in all. Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium opened in November 2006. Construction of Hanshin Intercontinental began in October 2021, and it opened in April 2026.
The Taichung Dome is being built on a site bounded by Huanzhong Road, Rongde Road, Chongde 19th Road and Tongrong East Road; the site covers about 6.95 hectares, and the main arena will seat 15,500. Construction began on March 11, 2024, and the city expects to finish it by the end of 2030.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
