A residential area keeping the names of two Qing-era villages, Houzhuang and Chenping, with three schools inside
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Houzhuang and Chenping are both village names left from the Qing dynasty. Property listings now call this area the "Houzhuang neighborhood", a densely built residential area. Chenping Village alone has 5,320 people living in about 17 hectares. Most children here go to the nearby Chenping Elementary School or Ren'ai Elementary School, then to Dade Junior High School; all three schools are inside the neighborhood. Walk west to Section 2, Zhongqing Road and you reach the edge of the neighborhood; Wenxin Zhongqing MRT Station is about 300 meters beyond it.
Everyday shopping ranks 15th of Taichung's 47 neighborhoods and convenience of daily life 29th. Siping Road and Houzhuang Road, both inside the neighborhood, are each known in property listings as a shopping district.
In street photos, cleanliness ranks 44th of Taichung's 47 neighborhoods and greenery 34th. But Chenping and Zhongping villages have very few street photos even though each has around 5,000 residents, so these rankings are less reliable.
Houzhuang's old name was Houzhuangzi, because it lay behind Chenping Zhuang, part of the old greater Sizhangli settlement; Chenping was named in the Qing dynasty by the settler Chen Yuanmou, after the childhood name of the ancestor who first brought the family to Taiwan. In 1964, Taichung Municipal Fifth Junior High School, the forerunner of Dade Junior High School, was approved to be built in Chenping Village; it was renamed Dade Junior High School in 1971. Ren'ai Elementary School became an independent school in 1980 and moved to its current site on Siping Road in 1981. When Chenping Elementary School took its first students in 1998, the Chenping Village pupils who had been assigned to Ren'ai Elementary School moved over to it.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
