Cycling home along the left bank of the Tamsui River, with Guanyin Mountain at your back
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Homes in Longxing line Longmi Road, with Guanyin Mountain behind them and the left bank of the Tamsui River in front. Real-estate listings say many homes have river and mountain views, and residents walk and cycle in the riverside park.
Ride downstream and the Bali Left Bank Bike Path passes Bali Ferry Pier in Micang Village, where ferries cross to Tamsui.
Listings say shops and bus stops are almost all strung along Longmi Road, and most residents live between Longxing 1st Street and 3rd Street. Longyuan Village, with 8,055 residents, is the most populous village in Bali.
Micang Elementary School is on Section 2 of Longmi Road, and its catchment is all of Longyuan Village plus neighborhood units (lin) 1 to 20 of Micang Village.
Listings say Quanhan Longxing Market on Longxing 2nd Street has a PX Mart, a POYA and a traditional market. On the 4th floor of the same building is the Longxing Reading Room, a public library reading room opened in October 2024.
In our street photos, litter and street cleanliness ranks 15th of New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods, and sidewalks 16th, both near the top.
Plenty of land and few people, so you need your own transport. The two villages average about 11 people per hectare, much of the land being Guanyin Mountain hillside and riverbank.
Everyday shopping ranks 92nd, toward the bottom; listings say for a big shop you cross the river to Zhuwei. Public transport ranks 91st, also toward the bottom; listings say people mostly commute by bus or car, and most buses run to Luzhou, Sanchong, Beitou and Shilin.
Healthcare ranks 96th, also toward the bottom. Listings say the neighborhood mostly has small and mid-sized clinics, and for a large hospital you go across the river to MacKay Memorial Hospital in Tamsui or Guandu Hospital.
Listings also say Longmi Road is a main route to Taipei Port with plenty of gravel lorries, the drawback mentioned most often.
Legend has it that when Japan took over Taiwan in 1895 and the old Guandu Temple was burned, residents of Longxing across the river, afraid the statue of the goddess would be destroyed, hid it in a haystack in the fields and then moved it to Zhangnaoliao to be worshipped, before it was later welcomed back to Guandu Temple.
Longxing has no large temple of its own; every year on the 24th day of the first lunar month, when Guandu's Mazu is welcomed back on her procession, she rests at what is now the Longmi Community Activity Centre.
Danjiang Bridge opened on 12 May 2026; its Bali end is around Taipei Port, not in this neighborhood. Listings say residents can reach the bridge via Provincial Highways 64 and 61 instead of all squeezing onto Guandu Bridge.
The Bali light rail line has not been approved yet: the Executive Yuan sent back its feasibility study in January 2024, and it will only be submitted for review after the revised plan for the Danhai Light Rail is approved.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
