Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall's gardens, with dancers and dog walkers at dawn, with the Taipei Dome and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park to the north
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
In the early morning at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Park, people do their morning exercises, practice dancing, and walk their dogs—nearby residents treat it as their own big park. The grounds cover more than 110,000 square meters, with Cuihu Lake, about 8,000 square meters, in the middle. Heading north across Zhongxiao East Road is the Taipei Dome, which opened in 2023, and further north is the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, converted from a tobacco factory. The homes are sandwiched between these large venues, mostly mid-rise apartment buildings and walk-ups 30 to 40 years old or older.
The MRT is close to home too: Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station's structure spans both sides of Guangfu South Road, with exits 3, 4, and 5 located within the neighborhood, which is why public transit ranks 13th among Taipei's 73 neighborhoods. Guangfu Elementary School is also within the neighborhood, and 97% of the neighborhood falls within its school district. Sidewalks rank 4th, making it easy to walk to the park or school.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall's main building has been closed for renovation since February 26, 2024, but the surrounding Zhongshan Cultural Park remains open as usual. The Taipei Dome connects to the MRT station via an underground passageway, but when events let out, traffic on Guangfu South Road is under heavy pressure. During a concert in late 2024, residents of the adjacent Xinglong Village reported chandeliers and water cups shaking, and the city government received 84 calls to the 1999 hotline that night. Guangfu Market, where people buy groceries, is located at Lane 496, Section 4, Ren'ai Road, just outside the southern edge of the neighborhood. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall neighborhood as commonly discussed in the real estate market extends west to Yanji Street, but this neighborhood only includes areas east of Guangfu South Road. The street view photo sampling only covered 33 grid cells, just above the 30-cell threshold, so the rankings are for reference only.
The Songshan Tobacco Factory opened in 1939, during the Japanese colonial era. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was completed in 1972, designed by Wang Da-Hong, and is now a municipal monument. The tobacco factory ceased production in 1998, and its northern half later became the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, operated by the Taipei Culture Foundation since 2011. The southern half of the site became the Taipei Dome in 2023.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
