A new land-readjustment community beside Rainbow Village, with an elementary school, a new junior high and a university all inside
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Rainbow Village, tucked into Lane 56 of Chun'an Road, has wall paintings that veteran Huang Yung-fu started painting in 2008. Next to the village is Ling Tung University's Chun'an Campus, and beyond that are the new towers of the Jiangong Self-Organized Land Readjustment Zone. Those new buildings brought in a wave of new residents: Chun'an Village had 1,343 people at the end of 2020, and by the end of 2025 that number had grown to 5,355. About 1.8 km north of the village, Wenshan Elementary School sits right next to Wenshan Park, with the Da Lingdong Evening Market nearby.
The neighborhood covers the cores of two adjacent elementary school catchments: Wenshan Elementary School to the north and Chun'an Elementary School to the south. The south side also has Ling Tung Senior High School and Ling Tung University. The Xixi area used to have no junior high school, so students had to cross the Fazi River to attend one. So the new Wenshan Junior High School opened in the neighborhood, taking in its first seventh-graders, six classes, in fall 2026. Buildings in street photos rank 21st; the park made from the old village and the new towers of the readjustment zone sit in the same neighborhood.
Convenience of daily life ranks 39th, and public transit also ranks 39th. There's no rail station at all within the neighborhood; the nearest one, HSR Taichung Station, is about 2.1 km from the edge of the neighborhood. Greenery ranks 32nd, and trash and cleanliness ranks 38th. The first phase of Wenshan Junior High School's buildings doesn't have enough classrooms, so total enrollment is capped for the 2026–27 school year. To the west of the neighborhood is Jingke Park, and to the east is National Freeway No. 1 — both lie outside the neighborhood.
Ling Tung University traces back to Ling Tung Junior College of Accounting, founded in 1964, and took the name Ling Tung University in 2005. Next to the campus used to be military dependents' villages such as Gancheng Village No. 6, Mazu Village No. 2, and Taimao Village No. 5. After teachers and students from Ling Tung and HungKuang saw Huang Yung-fu's paintings, they launched the "Save Rainbow Village" campaign in 2010, preserving about six painted buildings and some old trees, and the site opened as a park on January 25, 2014. Rainbow Village is now maintained by the Taichung City Government, which repainted the walls in 2023 and 2025. The Jiangong Self-Organized Land Readjustment Zone officially covers 10.2 hectares, and all of Chun'an Village lies within this neighborhood.
Wenshan Junior High School's second and third phases of construction will add an activity center and a gymnasium, though the completion date hasn't been announced yet. Chun'an Elementary School's new building broke ground in December 2025 — a three-story building with 24 classrooms — and its completion date also hasn't been announced yet.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
