At weekends, follow Chengtian Road towards the hills, where a stone-slab pilgrims' path leads up to Chengtian Chan Temple

Living in Yongning, weekdays revolve around Yongning Station on Section 3 of Zhongyang Road, and at weekends you can head for the hills. Chengtian Chan Temple on Chengtian Road has a pilgrims' path of sandstone slabs about 3.7 km long; the temple is southeast of Yongning Station, about 2 km in a straight line.
Back by the station, real-estate listings say Section 3 of Zhongyang Road has small supermarkets, chain restaurants and drugstores, with clinics and pharmacies spread along Zhongyang Road. Yongning Station is just one stop from Dingpu Station, the end of the Bannan Line, and listings say you often get a seat more easily on the way home.
Tucheng Junior High School is at No. 18 Yongning Road, about 0.8 km from the station in a straight line, and listings say there are breakfast shops and food stalls near the school.
All of Da'an Village is in the base catchment of Tucheng Elementary School, while Yongning Village is a shared catchment of Tucheng and Dingpu Elementary Schools. In our street photos, litter and street cleanliness ranks 39th of New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods, in the middle range; greenery ranks 26th, near the top.
Public transport ranks 55th, also in the middle range. Yongning Bus Transfer Station, beside Exit 2 of Yongning Station, opened on 17 February 2025 and, at the time it was reported, took in 10 Taoyuan bus routes.
Everyday shopping ranks 88th, healthcare 84th and, in the street photos, sidewalks 68th, all three toward the bottom.
Listings mention that this area is the gateway to a technology park, with heavy traffic at rush hour, and homes facing National Freeway No. 3 or Provincial Highway 65 hear the traffic. The old industrial character is still there: plenty of container lorries and heavy lorries, and homes mixed in with factories and office buildings.
Together, Yongning and Da'an Villages were once called Da'anliao. From the late Qing period into the early Japanese era this was Da'anliao Zhuang, part of Baijie Bao; in 1920 it became a dazi, with the name written as Da'anliao, under Tucheng Zhuang in Haishan Gun.
The old name also stayed with the MRT station: the place where it stands and the original bus stop were both called Da'anliao. To avoid confusion with Da'an Station on the Wenhu Line, the station took the name of the neighbouring Yongning Village instead.
After opening in 2006, Yongning was the end of the Bannan Line for nine years, and became the second-to-last stop only when the line was extended to Dingpu in July 2015.
Phase 2 of the Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line will have a station, LG12, near Yongning Station, and Wikipedia says the transfer will be outside the fare gates. Phase 2 as a whole is scheduled to open in September 2031, but the construction contract that includes LG12 is less than 1% complete and is not expected to finish until July 2033.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
