Living on the Sanchong side of the district line, walking to Xingfu Market on Sanhe Road for groceries
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
This neighborhood is nine villages in eastern Sanchong, pressed right up against Luzhou; across the district line to the north is the Luzhou neighborhood. For groceries, most people walk to Sanhe Road Section 4: real-estate listings describe the Xingfu shopping area there as having a food market, small eateries and banks, and Xingfu Market itself is inside this neighborhood.
The district line runs right past your front door. Yong'an North Road Section 2 is one road in two districts: even-numbered addresses belong to Luzhou, odd-numbered ones to Sanchong, and Renhua and Ci'ai villages are on the odd-numbered side.
The "Xuhui" in the name refers to St. Ignatius High School Station, on the other side of the district line (Xuhui is the school's Chinese name). The station is at the junction of Zhongshan Road Section 1 and Jixian Road in Luzhou, and Exit 2 connects to the shopping mall and hotel at Xuhui Plaza. Real-estate listings, meanwhile, file the "St. Ignatius High School area" under Sanchong District and describe it as sitting where the two districts meet.
Public transport ranks 12th, near the top among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods. Although St. Ignatius High School Station is in Luzhou, its Exit 2 opens straight onto Yong'an North Road Section 2.
Overall convenience ranks 19th. For primary school, all four villages in Yongfu Elementary School's base catchment are inside this neighborhood, and the school itself is in Yongfu Village. The other five villages are in Bihua Elementary School's base catchment; that school is outside the neighborhood, on Wuhua Street.
Going by our street-view photos, greenery ranks 100th, toward the bottom of New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods. Buildings rank 100th, also toward the bottom.
Real-estate listings also describe the area as short on large green spaces, with a high share of older buildings, narrow lanes and difficult parking. For a stroll, there are the small local parks named after their villages: Yongfu, Yongfeng and Cisheng.
"Xuhui" is not a local place name: it is the name of a school, brought over from Shanghai. St. Ignatius High School was founded by the Jesuits in Xujiahui, Shanghai, in 1850, and alumni re-established it in Taiwan in 1963.
When the Luzhou Line opened in November 2010, St. Ignatius High School Station opened the same day, named after the school just south of it, on the Luzhou side.
The northern section of the Circular Line is due for completion in 2031, when St. Ignatius High School Station will become an interchange between two lines and its entrances will increase from two to five. Two of the new entrances are planned between Jixian Road and Lane 8 of Yong'an North Road Section 2, on the Luzhou side of the district line. When this was announced in 2022, the land was still being acquired.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
