For a walk there is a string of small local parks: Zhongxiao, Erchong, Sanmin, Lianbang, Futian and Luoyang, all six inside this neighborhood. Erchong Park is not far from Erchong Elementary School, and Sanmin and Lianbang parks sit right beside Sanmin Street.
There is no MRT station in this neighborhood, so people usually take a bus to Sanchong Station or Cailiao Station. Those who drive or ride scooters cross into Taipei on Zhongxiao Bridge or Zhongxing Bridge.

Primary school is simple: Erchong Elementary School's base catchment is the seven villages of Dayou, Bo'ai, Erchong, Tianxin, Futian, Guangtian and Guangyang, plus the part of Tian'an Village west of Zhonghua Road. Tianzhong, Liufu and Yongfa villages, and the part of Tian'an Village east of Zhonghua Road, go to Chongyang Elementary School in Liufu Village.

Going by our street-view photos, sidewalks rank 63rd and greenery ranks 85th, both in the lower half. Real-estate listings also mention a gap between old and new streetscapes: the readjusted land along the floodway is tidier, while the lanes of the older areas are more worn.
At rush hour, traffic is heavy on Zhongxiao Bridge, Zhongxing Bridge and Zhongzheng North Road.
In the Qing dynasty and the early Japanese colonial period, Erchongpu was Erchongpu Zhuang. By the middle of the colonial period it had become a dazi (large section) under Luzhou Zhuang, and Dayou, Zhongxing and Wuguwang were the names of its smaller sections at the time. In 1947, Erchongpu and Sanchongpu merged to form Sanchong Township.
When Erchong Elementary School was founded in 1902, it was called the Touqian Branch of Xingzhi Public School, and its first site was on Wuguwang North Street, the same street as Xianse Temple. In 1909 it set up the Wuguwang Branch, the forerunner of Xinggu Elementary School; in 1912 it became independent as Erchongpu Public School.
In 1963, Typhoon Gloria devastated Sanchong and Luzhou, and the school was badly damaged too. Its current buildings are on Dayou Street, with the full rebuild completed in 2004. The Erchong Floodway to the west was part of the Greater Taipei flood control plan of the 1970s and 1980s.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
