Newly laid-out blocks by the Dahan River, where young families are moving in one by one
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
On the south bank of the Dahan River, this newly laid-out land readjustment area is filling up fast, according to real-estate listings, mostly with young families and people who commute around Taipei and New Taipei. Three green spaces are planned here, Xitou Park, Zhihui Park and Huajiang 123 Wooden Park, and the whole readjustment zone is built around the theme of a "Waterfront Livable City".
Shops on the streets are still few and far between, and real-estate listings say everyday shopping and eating out rely on the nearby Jiangzicui shopping area. Jiangzicui MRT Station is on the edge of this neighborhood, with the station itself straddling the line between Baicui Village and the Jiangzicui area.
Jiangcui Elementary School is also in Baicui Village, and the sign at MRT Exit 6 points to this very school.
In our street photos, buildings rank 16th out of 100 neighborhoods in New Taipei, in the upper tier. Sidewalks rank 23rd, also in the top third.
For school, the Jiangcui Elementary School catchment covers Baicui and Xitou villages, while Hongcui Village belongs to the Xinpu Elementary School catchment. By car, Huanhe West Road and Changjiang Road lead to Huajiang Bridge, the Huanhe Expressway and Provincial Highway 64; on foot, Xinpu Minsheng Station on the Circular Line is about 15 to 25 minutes away.
Everyday shopping ranks 31st, in the upper tier, and for daily groceries and meals most people still walk to the Jiangzicui shopping area. Healthcare choices are only average too: healthcare ranks 40th, in the lower-middle range.
Provincial Highway 64, an expressway, runs alongside, and real-estate listings warn buyers to weigh the noise of the elevated road and the views it blocks. Plenty of projects are still being built in the readjustment zone, so expect construction noise in the short term.
Jiangzicui was once called Jiangzaicui and in early years belonged to Gangzaizui Zhuang; in the late Qing period it became a zhuang of its own, and to set it apart from Gangzaizui it took more elegant characters that sound similar in Taiwanese.
In the Japanese era there was a railway station of the same name, Jiangzicui Station, at the junction of Xianmin Boulevard and Sanmin Road, about a kilometre from today's MRT station; after the war it was renamed Gangzui Station, and it has since closed. The MRT station opened on 31 August 2000; during planning it was provisionally called Shuangshi Station, but in the end it went back to the place name.
The Jiangcui North land readjustment zone along the Dahan River covers about 117 hectares, split into seven development units, A to G; about half is public facilities, and residential land makes up about 37%.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
