Schools down the soi, morning and evening markets along both sides
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Bangkok Patana School is right on Lasalle Road (Sukhumvit Soi 105), and St. Andrews Sukhumvit 107 is within walking distance of BTS Bearing station. That's why Lasalle is often described as a good fit for teachers at these international schools, and for families whose children attend international schools nearby. Mornings and evenings, market stalls set up along both sides of the soi, and there's a Tops Daily at the soi entrance.
Beyond the soi entrance, the neighborhood also has two markets, Lasalle 2000 and Duangploy, and there's a Lotus's next to Bearing station. Housing is often described as mostly mid-rise condos built between 2015 and 2022.
Lasalle has two sides, one closer to BTS Bearing and the other to MRT Si La Salle, and the Bearing side is often said to be more convenient for getting into the city.
From Lasalle, the BTS ride to Asok is often said to take about 30 minutes. On the other side, MRT Yellow Line's Si La Salle station lies outside the neighborhood to the east; you can ride the Yellow Line all the way to Samrong and change to the BTS there.
Going by our street photos, the streets here are clean, ranking 7th out of 32 neighborhoods in Bangkok for cleanliness. Sidewalks rank 13th, in the middle.
Worth knowing before you settle in: Bearing is the last BTS station within Bangkok proper. Samut Prakan Province begins a short way to the south, and that side isn't part of this neighborhood's scores. Morning drives toward Sukhumvit Road are often said to mean 20 to 30 minutes in traffic.
For daily convenience the neighborhood ranks 29th out of 32, and for healthcare it ranks last. Seeing a doctor often means leaving the neighborhood: people go to Sikarin Hospital on Srinakarin Road for everyday care and to Samitivej Srinakarin for specialists.
Bangkok Patana School, on the soi, was founded as early as 1957. The station came much later: Bearing station opened on August 12, 2011, and was the eastern end of the Sukhumvit Line until 2017.
Samrong station opened on April 3, 2017, and took over as the eastern terminus.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
